At this time the US coast Guard is trying to resuscitate a 28 year old black female in a yellow bathing suit. Earlier they were doing the same to a five year old. The two were swimming in the Herferd inlet area.Today it was blowing to hard in the afternoon for me to flounder fish. A few reports from those that fished the back bay early this morning. ED T caught 4 keepers to 4.1 pound, Dr. Gary had two keepers, CJ P. caught one keeper it weighted 4 pounds. Wally Bachman fished yesterday he had over 50 throw backs and one keeper. George and crew on the Cutty Caught a 125 pound Mako today. He said that was his last shark trip for the season. Tuna time! The Ocean flounder bite continues to be red hot.

My ( year old son and i will be in Stone Harbor July 11/18th…..we both love to fish for trout & bass in PA…no nothing about ocean fishing…I will take him on a Party boat and maybe a charter as well…but what we would like to do is Surf fish and Pier fish….what set up do we need….Rod, reel…where should we go for surf fishing…what should we use…what will we be fishing for…(Blues?) should we us live bait, lure, plug….can we fish for fluke from the shore…if so where and how.

Max, Two spots come to mind taking into consideration you will have your son with you. The 96 street bridge has a fishing area and it does produce fish. Grass sound pier is an excellent spot for flounder, blues. Check with Jim at the tackle shop as there is a small fee to fish the pier.Stone Harbor point would be a good spot to surf fish, all the way down to the point. A 6′ rod rated for 1oz along with a reel loaded with ten pound power pro will work. Give me a shout when you get to town and I will dial you in on the lures and bait.

Chuck, Yesterday one trout was caught in the area you were fishing. It was caught by a flounder fishermen in a boat. There is some bait fish in the area now. Nobody has been fishing from that spot in a while.
