10-14-09 kensdock report

A group of hard core fishermen have been fishing the beaches, sod banks and the ocean drive bridges of Cape May county hard! We are hunting for the first speckled trout, No luck so far in spite of excellent conditions. The last couple of days some nice keeper stripers have been caught the biggest 36″ caught from the beach at night. The tog bite has been good around the bridges. Small blues, flounder and short stripers account for  95% of all fish caught. The water temperature in the back bay today ranged from 58.5- 64.6 degrees. Many boats were being pulled out of the water today due to the forecasted North easter heading our way.
