The weakfish was stalking the edge of the sod bank, when I spotted the purple hues. It wasn’t long before my shadow spooked her. The tide-runner weakfish turned and dropped out of sight. It was so refreshing to see the weakfish in such a natural state. About twenty cast later, a weakfish hit, peeled some drag, razed to the top and dropped the hook. The scouting trip was a success. The water clarity, water temperature and wind direction were all good. However, I didn’t see any bait that would hold the fish in the area. Heading back out on the top of the tide, to continue the hunt.
